LindyFocus 2017

For the last 10 years my wife and I have been part of Lindy Focus, a highlight for us each and every year.  As the lead sound engineer, I get the honor of mixing perhaps the best music for swing dancers available, and each year it only gets better.  For the last several years, the format has highlighted a different historical band leader each night with last years main feature being all new transcriptions of Chick Webb's music.  This year's new feature are new transcriptions from Jimmie Lunceford.  "For Dancer's Only anyone?

If you are in the Asheville, NC area, check out the event.  It is treat to experience, even if you are not a dancer.

It is our hope to see a thriving culture of song writing for God spring up and grow here in Tallahassee.  It is our prayer that music writing will once again be a norm in Bible believing churches all across America, and that communities of believers composing songs for each moment and place across the world will give witness to what the Spirit of God is doing in every people and nation to where the gospel has been planted.

Studio Practice Day

Studio Practice Day

Ever artist must practice their craft.  This is no less true for recording studios.  Our instruments, our mics, our rooms in fact are the tools of our trade. At Sound of Cypress, our Studio Practice Days are how we improve our craft.  Usually focused around a specific instrument, practice days involve inviting a musician or two with their equipment to set in our tracking room and let us practice and play together to experiment with techniques and tricks that we usually would not have time for during our typical tight recording schedules.  At the end of each session the musician gets the chance to track a short take of their choice which can be taken home free of charge.  It is a direct trade-for-trade.  Your equipment, your talent, our studio.  If you are interested participating in one of our practice days, please contact us at info@soundofcypress.com
